shortcode not working

I can see this link showing “Love it/Hate it” and the voting process works. So not sure why you have mentioned this to be not working.

Hello.

The reason I posted was because initially I could not get anything to show up, but I managed to fix that.

But the images still do not show up, no matter which option I choose. That is why I have chosen the text alternative that you saw. But there is an issue with this option as well. The formatting of the output does not allow for a space after the text and before the count number, as you will see if you take another look at the post as mentioned above.
